TIMES SQUARE— The new bonkers plan from The Box's Simon Hammerstein? He's bringing the show to Times Square for two weeks this October. It will reportedly "offer an interactive Halloween experience unlike anything seen before in New York nightlife. Adults 21 and over will be immersed in a multi-level world of macabre fantasy complete with interactive variety acts and installations, all set in a dynamic environment that is at once frightening, erotic and whimsical." [DBTH]

FLATIRONCrain's reports that Chock Full o'Nuts is opening its first full service restaurant in Manhattan in 30 years. It will take over the shuttered Comfort Diner space on 25 West 23rd St. and is meant to hearken back to the chain's heyday from the '50's - 70's. [Crain's]

RED HOOK— Grub Street learns that Fort Defiance was closed over the weekend by the Health Dept. for issues with their gas. They plan to reopen soon with an even bigger and better menu. [GS]
