Upping the Ante: SWEET Submissions Due Today

Just a reminder to all those pastry nuts out there that submissions for the Eater SWEET contest (background on the contest here) will be accepted at 36 Cooper Sq. 5th floor until 5 p.m. today. In the lead so far: the above Red Wine & Fruits cake, hand delivered by its architect-cum-amateur pastry chef Carolina Montoya, who flew in from Miami today just for the contest. But don't let it discourage anyone. Distance traveled and presentation are just two components in the final judgment. It's still anyone's game.
