Status: Opening the bar tonight; open for dinner tomorrow. Breakfast and lunch will come in two weeks.
Gabriel Stulman opens his first solo project after his departure from the everyday worlds of Market Table and The Little Owl tonight. Named Joseph Leonard after his two grandfathers, the teeny weeny—but entirely gorgeous space is dominated by a large bar with 13 seats and decorated with all manner of antiques and paraphernalia picked up by Stulman at fairs and markets around the country. Seven small tables line the two tiered dining room, including two seats right in front of the sliver of an open kitchen. At night, said kitchen will offer up items like shrimp and grits, crab claws, braised pork hock, and lamb t-bones, while the forthcoming breakfast menu offers eggs, biscuits, scrapple, and quiche—all brought to you by Bouchon alum Chef Jim McDuffee. Check in tomorrow for a look around the dining room.
