West Village: Though careful readers have known this was coming since the restaurant went on the market back in March, a number of sad emails came in to the tipline this morning to report this weekend's closing of West Village Portuguese spot Alfama. Owners have said they plan to reopen in a new spot—some have mentioned they could move to the East Village—but that matters little when the business at hand is a neighborhood place, not a destination restaurant. If anyone out there knows which entity is going to take over the Hudson/Perry St. corner space for over $27k a month, do tell.
· On the Market: Alfama, Smorgas Chef, Delicia Brazil [~E~]
