Game Changer: Tourondel to Open BLT Grill in FiDi

Financial District: According to a new Community Board 1 agenda, a restaurant called BLT Grill is applying for a liquor license at 123 Washington Street, the home of the trouble plagued new W Hotel and Residences just one block from the future Freedom Tower. Reps at the BLT empire, which operates chef Laurent Tourondel's other restaurants BLT Prime, BLT Steak, BLT Market, and BLT Fish, confirm that yes, they are in talks to add this concept, their first venture in the tricky FiDi realm. Details are still scant because a deal has yet to be signed, but it's fair to assume there will be a burger or two in the offering. Keep in mind this isn't the first pricey condo/hotel development BLT has dealt with. They were meant to open a BLT restaurant in the Trump Soho before they parted ways in March '08.

In other CB1 news, a restaurant called Stuzzicheria is applying for booze over on Church Street. It's likely, but not confirmed to be, a sister of Flatiron's Bar Stuzzichini.
