Thursday Opening Report: Green Apple, Fonda, Iron Sushi

1) Tribeca: The aforementioned Tribeca Italian spot Trattoria Cinque, opens tonight.Status: Certified open; 363 Greenwich St.; 212-965-0555.

2) Nolita: Grub Street writes that gelato shop Green Apple has opened. In addition to serving in house made gelato from local fruits, the joint plans to stay up from noon to midnight, extending to 1a.m. on weekends. Status: Though calls have gone unanswered, all signs point to open; 204 Mott St., 212-966-5666.

2) Park Slope: Brownstoner reports that Fonda, a new Mexican restaurant, has opened in the former Little D eatery space. According to a blackboard inside, it "touts Mexican burgers, fresh guacamole, zarape de pato and pork in adobo as 'signature creations.'" 4) East Village: Fork in the Road reports that Iron Sushi has opened on East 10th St: "The chainlet has two locations on the Upper East Side and in Midtown; the new location is shoehorned into a row of Japanese restaurants that include Curry Ya and Teriyaki Boy."
