1221 Avenue of the Americas, Midtown
Phone 212-759-5941
Status: Soft open for lunch

The new location of three star seafood spot Oceana opened today over on 6th Ave. and 49th St. by Rock Center. Though the official launch isn't until the second week in September, the restaurant has soft opened for lunch, offering a 20% discount on all food, and given they will have their liquor license on the scene tomorrow, dinner shouldn't be too far off. The new space is separated into a raw bar, a bar bar, a dining room, and a pdr located within a wine suite in the middle of the room and features and open kitchen and (!) a lobster tank. Midtown lunchers should note that in addition to the usual selection of seafood, the bar will offer both salmon and beef burgers, fish tacos, fried clams, spring rolls, and (why not?) pizza. Let's at least hope for a clam pie. Stay tuned for news on dinner and brunch.
