EaterWire: JGV's Son at Perry Street, Great Jones' Reno

UPPER WEST SIDE— Brace! Jeffrey Chodorow has come up with a name for the chowder bar/fish shack he and Ed Brown are opening next month in the soon-to-be-shuttered Center Cut space: Ed's Chowder House. [Diner's Journal]

SOHO— Other El Chod news from the tipline: "I saw him and staff check out the construction at the new hotel to be at Grand St. Possible rest. deal happening." [EaterWire]

NOHO— Heartbreaking news for Noho this weekend. Great Jones St. Cafe is closed for renovations until Monday. [EaterWire]

WEST VILLAGE— The Dash 'Bag reports that Jean-George Vongerichten has found a job for his eldest son Cedric Vongerichten: the chef at Perry Street. The former chef Erik Battes is being shuffled to some other job in the empire. [TFB]
