West Village: According to next month's Community Board 2 agenda, Bobby Werhane, a co-owner of Dell'Anima, L'Artusi, and Johnny Utah's, is seeking a liquor license for the space that once held Anita Lo's unlucky Bar Q. No word yet on what he's planning—if Joe Campanale is involved with this and his new wine bar and running a marathon, man's head needs to be checked—but it's nice to see something finally going in the space after a six month vacancy.
In other CB2 news, the owner of Serafina is seeking to open a spot in the old Inn LW12 space at 7 Ninth Ave., and Gusto is seeking a new license, an oddity given established restaurants general seek renewals. Could they be planning a new entity?
