EaterWire: VIP Grimaldi's Access, Cafe Select's Tunnel

FIDI— The lovely people at Rockrose (a real estate group) and Grimaldi's (the famous pizza place expanding into Manhattan this fall) sent a pizza to Curbed HQ today—and it looks like Grub Street HQ—to announce that the new residents of the former NYU dorm at 200 Water Street have a few special amenities. Since the Grimaldi's is opening next door at 135 John St., "Joseph Ciolli...says he will allow 200 Water residents to bypass the legendary addition, tenants can enjoy delivery service...'if you rent at 200 Water, we'll treat you like the Mayor.'" As for the pizzeria itself, it's going to be transformed into a 5,000 sq. ft. three floor restaurant with rooftop dining by November. [EaterWire]

SOHO— That secret tunnel that one used to be able to take to get to the semi-secret back room of restaurant Cafe Select is now off limits. The structure was on the verge of collapsing under the weight of all that self-satisfaction. [GS]

LONDON— Some mad scientists created a food truck that can make ice cream flavored snow. [EMD]
