EaterWire: Crab Boils, Pig Roasts, and Trix with Duck

MOVIE LAND— Some Mario Batali news from Grub Street: "Super Mario is joining the cast of Bitter Feast, a “darkly comic thriller” currently filming in Manhattan and Woodstock...'LeGros plays a New York chef and TV cooking personality who takes culinary revenge on the food critic (Leonard) who recently savaged his restaurant in a review. Batali plays the owner of the restaurant.'" [GS]

EAST VILLAGE— Starting tomorrow Marco Canora and Paul Greico will host a series of pig roast dinners at their restaurant Hearth. On the July 21 & 28 and August 4 & 18, they'll open up the whole restaurant for these three-course dinners ($42 per person with $18 pairing) that include pork terrine, whole roasted baby pig stuffed with pork sausage, and seasonal fruit pie. On these nights, Hearth will not be serving the regular menu.

EAST VILLAGEBack Fory's crab boil dinners on Tuesday nights have been such a success that Peter Hoffman is opening the program up to groups of 10 - 14 from Wednesday - Saturday. The stumbling block: it's $600 per group. [EaterWire]
