X-Mas in July: Hanson Sets Sights on old Hog Pit Space

Meatpacking District: Back when biker haven and neighborhood institution The Hog Pit announced they would be leaving the Meatpacking District due to a rent hike, observers worried that some sort of moneybag retailer like Steve Madden or a high ender like Marc Jacobs would take over that primo real estate on 9th Ave. and West 13th. But no, seven recession fueled months after the bar/restaurant relocated to the Flatiron, mega restaurateur and evil genius Steve Hanson is eying the space. According to Community Board 2's July agenda, the Full Hanson is seeking a new, full liquor license for 22 9th Ave. just a year after he appeared for recent endeavor 675 Bar.

The flacks at BR Guest have yet to reveal what's being planned for the space, but one can only hope it can take on those employees lost in the Fiamma/Ruby Foo's double shutter.
