A well sourced tipster told us yesterday that Danny Meyer's new concession operation at Central Park's Delacorte Theater, Public Fare, would be soft open today, and after seeing some Serious Eats food porn, we had to mosey on up there. Turns out it is indeed soft open to the public. They're still waiting on tables, but they should be in there soon. Other vital facts: there is a plan in the works to take orders from people in line to see the show, people CAN bring the food inside to their seats, and whoopie pies are $2. Also on the menu: yellowfin tuna sandwich, organic chicken salad, BLT, tomato, zucchini and ricotta sandwich, salads, sweets, snacks, beer, and wine.
