WILLIAMSBURG— Brooklyn Based shares the exciting news that Pies 'n' Thighs alum and Egg chef Stephen Tanner will be the new chef at the restaurant taking over the Black Betty space on Metropolitan. [BB]

CARROLL GARDENS— Carroll Gardens wine bar JakeWalk is launching a larger small plates menu this month, along with a lengthy list of spirits by the glass and over 100 whiskys. They'll soon offer outdoor seating. [EaterWire]
