Pies 'n' Thighs Update: Still No Opening in Sight

Williamsburg: It is with great sadness that we report that Williamsburg's beloved Pies 'n' Thighs is getting no closer to opening. The restaurant/hole in the wall in the back of Rockstar Bar closed over a year and a half ago with the hopes of reopening last summer at its new space on South 4th Street. Last fall, word came out that they'd been held up by DOB, and now owner Sarah Buck tells us her landlord has sold the building. She and co-owners Erika Geldzahler and Carolyn Bane are waiting for the new and old owners to figure out who is responsible for the old violations that have thus far prevented Pies 'n' Thighs from getting the proper permits. Until then, we recommend getting your southern food fix at nearby Egg or Brooklyn Star. As for the sweets, we've spotted Buck making cameos at, where else, Momofuku Milk Bar.
