Status: Opening to the public tonight.
The Standard Hotel's long-awaited Standard Grill throws open its doors to the world tonight after a week of hosting friends and family including the likes of Diane Von Furstenberg, Julianne Moore, and various other MePa notables. The resy line is indeed open, but they're reserving prime time hours for walk-ins (and, one wagers, VIPs), so those seeking a sure-thing table should calibrate stomachs for food consumption before 7pm or after 9pm. Inside, the space—divided into a white bar room and a cushy main dining room—is quite the looker with its vaulted and beamed ceiling, penny lined floor, deep red banquettes, and orange leather armchairs. Chef Dan Silverman's menu focuses on chophouse staples—roast chicken, lamb chops, steak frites—with most entrees in the low-mid $20s. Game on.
