Thursday Opening Report: Recess, Piccola Cucina, Destination Certified Open

1) Greenwich Village: New fro-yo/coffee shop Recess has opened in the old Spice space on University and 10th, and it's already getting some raves. Status: Certified Open. 60 University Place.

2) Soho A tipster sends word and Flo Fab confirms that Piccola Cucina has opened in the old Cafe Tina space on 184 Prince St.: "About the size of a toaster-oven (an elegant, mirrored one), this SoHo spot is owned by Philip Guardione, who has cooked in Milan and Paris." 3) East Village: Destination, the new travel-themed bar in the old Boys Room space on East 13th and A opened last night with a drinks menu of cocktails and, oh yes, jello shots. Status: Certified Open; 211 Ave. A, 212-388-9844.

4) FiDi: Flo Fab reports that plywood vet Harry's Italian has finally opened in the space of the shuttered Gold St. Status: Unknown. It looked close to opening earlier in the week, but no answers to phone calls. 2 Gold Street, 212-747-0797.
