Status: Opens for walk-ins tonight.
This morning Flo Fab reported that Hotel Griffou—the eagerly anticipated new restaurant and bar owned by some Freemans, Waverly Inn, and Pastis expats—would be opening tonight at 21 West 9th Street. And by golly, a call and a visit to the restaurant early this afternoon confirms. They'll be taking walk-ins tonight and resys starting July 1. According to Grub Street, which serves up a pretty slideshow of the interior, the space is divided into a library, a salon, a studio, a garden with a patio, and a wine cellar. As for the menu, chef Jason Michael Giordano's mains range from $17 for the Griffou Burger to $42 for Stuffed Lobster Tails with brown butter, cocktails are $14, and that duck confit poutine we've been hearing about goes for $12. As always, send all early reports this way.
