The Plywood Report: Sweet Caroline's, Destination, Aangan

1) Flatiron: A tipster sends an image of the plywood covering the forthcoming restaurant at the Wyndham Garden Hotel at 37 West 24th street in the Flatiron District. Sources say it will be a trendy authentic Italian restaurant, opening in July or August. [PLYWOOD]

2) East Village: Destination Bar, a joint venture between Chris Sileo, co-owner of the East Village's Bowery Wine Co., Mason Reese, co-owner of Paladar, and their partner Dan Maccarone, opens in the shuttered Old Boys Room space Thursday. See the drinks menu here. [PLYWOOD]

3) Soho: A new restaurant is prepping to open in the old HQ space. A tipster sends a pic, above, noting they were having a private party or friends and family event last night. [PLYWOOD]

4) East Village: EVGrieve reports on the never ending open again, closed again saga at the former Evolution space: "It looked like a fairly serious change as the interior has been gutted and the exterior walls have come down. As I queried the construction worker regarding the future tenant he said, 'evolution'." [PLYWOOD]

5) Park Slope: Lost City writes on the progress of Black Horse Pub: "The new Black Horse Pub, in the South Slope, at 14th and Fifth Avenue, has been under construction for some time. All things looks ready to go inside. And a blackboard on the wall says the bar will open in two weeks time." [PLYWOOD]

6) Midtown: A special Midtown correspondent sends in the above pic of Sweet Caroline's on around 44th between 8th and 9th. Sadly, no one's answering the number on the sign to tell us when this Boston themed (?) bar will open. [PLYWOOD]

7) Upper West Side: We got word last week that Baluchi's Indian Food is opening a new restaurant called Aangan on 103rd and Broadway to be opened in late June. [PLYWOOD]
