West Village: Designer Rachel Roy and Chloë Sevigny may have gotten sneak peeks at Hotel Griffou—the new West Village bar/club/restaurant opening in the old Marylou's space on West 9th St.—over a week ago, but they just started formal friends and family previews last night. And who stopped by the spot, owned by Waverly Inn, Freemans, and Pastis alums? Why Waverly Inn chef John DeLucie and Freemans' William Tigertt of course.
Tweets the latter: "...old skool French cuisine mixed with post-olden-timey decor & heavy dash of beautiful people. A sure hit...Forget the truffle mac & cheese @ Waverly Inn, the duck confit poutine @ Hotel Giffou is the new artery clogging crack for downtown set."
Check out Urban Daddy for more on the space, "a world of wonders filled with hidden chambers, parlor rooms, Lobster Thermidor Fondue and a few hanging fox hides."
