We took a quick spin by Anella, the 'market driven' restaurant opening in the old Queen's Hideaway space in Greenpoint, this afternoon and learned it is ready for its debut this evening. To encourage the locals to stop by, the owners are offering 10% off the total check tonight and tomorrow. What's on the menu: aps and salads from $6-12, five different kinds of pizzas, pastas for around $15, and mains like Monkfish Osso Bucco and Pork loin wrapped in Anella bacon. Already the prices are more reasonable than its highly seasonal predecessor.
Meanwhile, just next door, t.b.d.'s garden/annex is moving forward. According to a tipster and their neighbors, the bar hopes to turn their newly acquired outdoor space into a beer garden where they'll serve barbecue within the next two months. Could we have a Greenpoint renaissance on our hands?
