Thank heavens, the saga of the Florent space continues! According to Community Board 2's SLA Licensing Committee's May agenda, the new owners of the old Florent/R&L space at 69 Gansevoort are looking to open Gansevoort Cafe there once they acquire a new license. No word yet on whether these new owners are indeed David Graziano and David Cabo of The Pink Elephant and Bagatelle, as rumored last month, but we're looking forward to seeing that place opened up again.
In other CB2 news, the restaurant planned for the Mondrian Hotel, cheffed by Sam Talbot, will go before the board, as will the multiple spaces in the Grand Street Hotel. And finally, it looks like someone is taking over the space of the dearly departed Fiamma on Spring. Here's hoping they don't turn the corpse of the three star operation into an upscale pizza joint.
