Tribeca: On the heels of some PXThis shutter rumormongering and a crippling Bruni blog post, Flo Fab reports that David Bouley's Secession has indeed closed. Considering the place has been struggling for eight months, even with its new lauded chef Christian Delouvrier at the helm, we're not entirely surprised.
The Times also confirms the earlier rumors that Bouley plans to move his delayed Japanese restaurant and cooking school Brushstroke into the building from its planned location in the old Greek diner on 111 West Broadway. (We guess all that community board lobbying last year was for naught.) For those keeping track, this will be the third restaurant to open in the space in under a year.
Chef Delouvrier will be shuffled around the empire, working soon at a commissary Bouley is planning.
