The Plywood Report: Ward 3, Grandma Rose's, Harry's

New, 1 comment

1) Tribeca: The new spot replacing happy hour favorite QDT on 111 Reade Street will be called Ward 3. Long-time Tribeca bartenders Abdul Tabini (The Odeon), Kenneth McCoy (Dylan, Layla, Ella), and Michael Neff (Macao Trading Co, Grace) hope to open their spot, which "will feature cocktails and international comfort food," in three weeks. [PLYWOOD]

2) Williamsburg: A restaurant called Grandma Rose's has recently arrived on a suddenly bustling stretch of Graham Ave. right by the BQE. Located, interestingly enough, directly across from the R Bar, it will serve this part of the neighborhood's specialty—Italian food. [PLYWOOD]

3) Union Square: Above, some new shots of the former Tisserie space, set to debut soon as Pret a Manger. [PLYWOOD]

4) FiDi: A tipster sends in a few shots from the incoming Harry's at 2 Gold Street: "From the looks of the interior, they're at least a few weeks away from being ready...And those nice outdoor tables just sit there empty." [PLYWOOD]

5) East Village: EV Greive notices that plywood has gone up around the former Love Saves the Day space/future ramen joint, "perhaps to keep snoopy bloggers from seeing what's going on inside..." [PLYWOOD]

6) Hell's Kitchen: Life with Food and Drink reports on Mother Burger, a new burger joint on "that stretch of concrete between 49th and 50th streets and 8th and 9th avenues where people gather on nice days." [PLYWOOD]

7) East Village: EV Greive posted some pictures of a few new things on Avenue C: a building between 9th and 10th went up for sale, a dry cleaner is opening, and a new cafe called Bread and Butta is already in business. [PLYWOOD]
