According to the official summons procured by Eater, a vendor Halper Paper & Designs is suing Philippe restaurant on East 60th, Philippe Chow Express, and Philippe Miami for a grand total of $46,777.28. The three restaurants owe the company—which provides disposable food service items like to-go containers and cups, as well as toilet paper, garbage bags, and the like—payment dating back to last September and October.
Looking on the bright side, they've just opened a new location in East Hampton! Guessing they switched to a new napkin maker.
Update: From a spokesperson at Philippe: "They had a deadline for all the express packaging and came months later after we opened and not at the promised date. We will be in court to prove our case with corresponding emails and signed contracts defending our point. Since then we were welcomed with appreciation to Imperial Paper.”
