3) Clinton Hill: Brownstoner reports that Etwin Goodwin, the owner of Essential Cakes is opening in the retail space on 886 Fulton between Waverly and Washington: "Her specialty is red velvet so Cake Man Raven better watch out!" [PLYWOOD]

4) Astoria: New York Knife & Fork notices signage for a new place called Ole! on an undisclosed street near the Kaufman movie theater in Astoria: "With what appears to be an expansive roof deck and accented exterior, this new Latin joint seems poised to fill the Spanish-tapas-lounge void that higher temperatures always seems to create." 5) Downtown Manhattan: Per a press release, Elevation Burger, a NC-based organic burger chain, will be opening several Manhattan locations thanks to a deal signed by restaurateurs Fabian Rosario (owns the IHOP in Brooklyn) and John Harris (owner of The Spot in Prospect Heights): "Elevation Burger focuses on one thing – burgers and fries – and they do it well. Secondly, we were drawn to the grass-fed, 100% organic beef burgers and fries cooked in Olive Oil.
