Home to the Deathwatched Dani for two years and the sad Archipelago for just two and a half months, the doomed space that is 333 Hudson St. on the far reaches of the Soho West wasteland has a new tenant, Dog Ear Tavern. The space, and more importantly the location, is a real stinker, and anyone opening out here faces an uphill battle (see Harbour, City Winery). But more to the point, we can't imagine that calling your bar Dog Ear Tavern, located just around the corner from neighborhood standby and arguably the oldest bar in Manhattan the Ear Inn, is the best way to curry favor in the nabe.
