Adventures in Shilling #057: THOR, Izzy & Nats, and Hudson Terrace

New, 1 comment

It's time for another edition of Adventures in Shilling, in which we fight shilling the best way we can, by shaming tasteless, unscrupulous shills into submission. Well, that's the plan, at least. Fight shills yourself by dropping offensive links to tips@eater.com

2009_05_hudsonterrace.jpgWeeding out the shillers so you don't have to, today we turn our detectors over to The Hotel on Rivington (hotel and restaurant), Hudson Terrace, and Izzy and Nat's. It gets pretty dicey towards the end, so stick with us:

A couple of funny THOR lovers in the Eater comments:

"I love the Riv Ho! had a sweet suite last NY Eve was amazing, will def check out the new THOR!"
And:
"Well I'm glad they're finally trying something. The hotel is a raging success but that restaurant has been wide open for years now. Definitely needs fresh blood but I'm not exactly sure this is the right type."
Shill Probability: 64%

And we have a suspiciously excitable fan of new Battery Park City deli Izzy & Nat's in the Eater comments:

"I have just returned from eating dinner at Izzy and Nat's. I have eaten there 4 times already. I am a New Yorker born and bred and this is the greatest pastrami I have ever had. It melts in your mouth, not too salty and no after affects, if you know what I mean. I had their fried chicken and it was to die. These are 2 guys who took a chance on downtown and they deserve all of our business. It is truely great food and sweet service and the boys are on the premises all the time. My husband and I are in love with this place. Thank you Izzy & Nat's!!
Shill Probability: 72%

The shillers are clocking in early on the newly reopened Hudson Terrace. The NFT thread has a number of suspicious entries, but here's our fave:

"A beautiful venue that is upscale and classy and will change your perspective of NY nightlife. It's good for private events as well as an after work drink. With a rooftop patio and a swanky lounge with large crystal chandeliers, it's hard to resist spending every night here!"
Shill Probability: 99%
