Eater Inside: Emporio

It was just last week that news broke that Riccardo Buitoni, the owner of the Aurora restaurants in Soho and Williamsburg, planned to open up shop in Nolita's failed InTent space. Lo and behold, the restaurant, Emporio, is already set for its debut. Scheduled to soft open tonight, Emporio focuses on traditonal Roman trattoria fare, fried and cured bar snacks, and, of course, pizza. Once they get their liquor license—and you never know how long that will take these days—the front section will operate as a wine bar, the back as the dining room.
