Plywood: Chinese Sandwiches to Make Glorious Return

Midtown: Workers in the Chinatown/Tribeca area were robbed of a great lunchtime treasure last October when Chinese sandwich shop Province Canteen at Church and Walker unceremoniously closed without any real hope of return but for a vague "We will be relocating" sign in their window. Well, happy news today comes from Midtown Lunch. The restaurant is reopening soon on 53rd between 2nd and 3rd with the new name “Mantou Chinese Sandwiches”. With any luck these little sandwiches will replace banh mi as the new cheap trend to dominate the city. We'll be keeping an eye on the Blue Seats menu.
