Subject: Sushi Samba Scandal
——
I had a birthday with 12 people at Samba on 7th Avenue last night. The food was delicious as always, but the service was horrendous! The server came for two rounds of drink pushing, which made us wait 45 minutes just to give our food order. When we paid the check the true unpleasantness began: After counting the huge wad of cash 5 times, I explained to the waiter (at least 5 times) how much should go on the credit cards in order to pay the balance. The waiter came back 10 minutes later with a much smaller stack of cash, which happened to be missing the one , five and ten dollar bills. He told us that we were almost 100 dollars short!
I asked why the stack of cash was missing the one, five and ten dollar bills, and he said that he had changed it in for 20 dollar bills. This seemed highly unlikely that he would change it in before counting it, which made me believe that he was not being honest. Finally, he acquiesced to my insisting, and asked another 5 times how much should go on the cards. I explained the amounts, and when he came back he overcharged one card by 100 dollars!!! When I spoke to the manager, he begrudgingly fixed the problem, and as I was expressing my frustration, he walked away while I was in mid sentence!!!.... A terrible experience! I will never go back there again!
