Publicity Stunts: Wondering if There Really Was a Legal Tiff

New, 5 comments

Today, at his Hudson Square and DUMBO locations, Jacques Torres is giving away free chocolates to passersby who will sign his petition asking Hershey's not to sue him for trademark violation. Other than a couple people wandering by, it seems mostly a press/blogger show, with a camera crew interviewing Torres and each of his employees. Yes all evidence suggests otherwise, but we're beginning to think from the get-go this was just a genius engineering move on Torres' part to drum up some new interest. Regardless, it got Gael off the couch. More needless coverage of the chocolatier on the 10 o'clock news or The Feed's twitter. Let's hope this settles it.
