EaterWire: Dutch Kills Set for Friday, Levine Heads East, Torres Troubles

New, 1 comment

LONG ISLAND CITY— Urban Daddy brings the good word that Sasha Petraske's long delayed Long Island City debut Dutch Kills will open this Friday. [UD]

HAMPTONS— Guest of a Guest reports Matt Levine is taking over the Saracen space in Bridgehampton: "The restaurant will be renamed 'The Georgica' after the pond that it’s on (which they will be sharing with Ron Perelman), and will feature celebrity chefs from 'Hell’s Kitchen.'" [GoaG]

DUMBO— Two developments with chocolatier Jacques Torres today. One: in order to show Hershey's that they needn't litigate against his champagne kiss chocolate, he's started a petition. He'll be giving away free chocolates at his Dumbo and Hudson Square stores tomorrow to people who sign. Also, The Feed learns that his expansion plans are moving forward: "At 62 Water Street, adjacent to his Dumbo factory, Torres plans on making two indoor stationary carts the focal point of his ice cream parlor. He also promises beverages, cupcakes (!), pints of ice cream to go and his already famous ice cream cookies...The same ice creams will be available at a cart inside the Hudson Street Jacques Torres..."
