After the most glorious weekend yet in this long in coming spring season, it's once again 45 degrees and gray. Nevertheless, the al fresco dining season has arrived in New York. On Saturday at the Brooklyn Flea, food lines for both papusas and Anne Saxelby's grilled cheese sandwiches were frustratingly and absurdly long, leaving impatient fleamongers to the hot dogs at Choice. The Gowanus Yacht Club raged all weekend, Grub Street reports The Frying Pan has opened early, Habana Outpost was, as a tipster reports, "packed like an inmate's bottom" on opening night, and Estancia's outdoor cafe made its debut on Friday. The Red Hook Vendors return in just two weeks, Williamsburg's Motorino is on the verge of opening an outdoor garden, and we expect the lovely A60 atop 60 Thompson and newcomer Above Allen atop the Thompson LES to debut within the month. Some more good news: It'll be 70 and sunny again just in time for this upcoming weekend.
