The Plywood Report: Bare Burger, Black Horse Pub, Baja Fresh, Hummus Place, and More

1) Nolita: Workers at the restaurant tell us La Crêpe Parisienne, pictured above, should be opening up on Spring between Lafayette and Mulberry in about a month. [PLYWOOD]

2) Noho: Some movement at Kelly & Peng (site of one of the competing "restaurants" in Marco Pierre White's Chopping Block)? From the tipline: "While walking to work this afternoon I noticed a dude on a cell phone inside the trashed storefront that formerly housed Kelly & Ping on the Bowery. Maybe someone's signed a lease there?" [PLYWOOD]

3) West Village: A tipster sends in the latest plywood shot of Michael Huynh's new Baoguette spinoff, Pho Sure, opening next week at 120 Christopher St. [PLYWOOD]

4) Astoria: Joey in Astoria provides some more details on Bare Burger, the new organic burger joint coming to 31st Ave and 34th Street: "Bare Burger is an organic burger company, started by some friends who were born and raised in Astoria and wanted to open up a tasty eatery in their hometown. Their menu is going to offer a wide variety of organic burgers: grass fed meats, including Piedmontese beef, bison, elk, ostrich, lamb, turkey, chicken, and even a veggie burger...Pricewise, a standard bareburger...will be about $10 or so." 5) Flushing: Gothamist reports the old Caffe on the Green space—a popular Italian eatery and caterer that was evicted by the city in January— will soon become an Italian restaurant operated by vets of restaurants Aureole and Tribeca Grill. It will be called Valentino on the Green. [PLYWOOD]

6) South Slope: Fork in the Road brings word that Black Horse Pub will open on May 30 on 5th Ave. and 16th: "The website promises 'British, Irish, and American dishes served up by our renowned Lancashire chef Mick Baldwin.'..Full English breakfast will be served during soccer matches, and there will also be Sunday roasts." 7) East Village: A tipster sends in the above Hummus Place pic, confirming EV Grieve's suspicions that they are expanding into the old Sympathy for the Kettle space. [PLYWOOD]

8) Midtown: nycblondieandbrownie submits a pic to the Eater Flickr Photo pool of the dismantling of Zen Burger. It should reopen in the next few weeks as New York's first location of Baja Fresh. [PLYWOOD]

9) Midtown: Grub Street brings word that 2 Bros. Pizza is opening a new location by Port Authority, one block from 99¢ Fresh Pizza . [PLYWOOD]

10) East Village: Jeremiah Moss spots a mystery restaurant coming to East 7th: "...something's coming to the former Addukkan space on a block of 7th Street that has been turning fast--these baskets were dumped, the windows are papered, and the permit says a kitchen is coming. Also, um, it's in the name of the same architects who designed Jamba Juice." [PLYWOOD]
