TRIBECA— Some shutter rumormongering from the tipline: "...walked past it this afternoon, and talked to one guy there...told me its shuttered for good!" According to the answering machine at the restaurant, it will be closed for this week for the Tribeca Film Festval, and a rep at sister restaurant Tribeca Grill says we shouldn't expect the place to open back up again until May 3. Considering Mai House had already cut back to three days a week, we don't see this as a totally encouraging sign. [EaterWire]
MIDTOWN— Bruni gets on the blog to offer up some impressions on newcomer Armani Ristoranite. We especially love the opener: "Among the many restaurants that were planned before the downturn and forced to open at a bad time, the one on the second floor of the new Armani store in Midtown may be the unluckiest." [Diner's Joural]
CHELSEA—According to the Twitter and Shophound Balducci's is having a fire sale. Almost all items, including their fancy cheese, are on severe clearance. [Twitter; Shophound]
TOP CHEFLAND— Toby Young confirms to the Bag that he'll be returning for another season of Top Chef: "Yup. I’ll be a regular, alternating with the lovely Gail. I can’t blame you for hating me. If I was a viewer I’d much prefer to watch Gail, too." [TFB]
