EAST VILLAGE— Last month the Alfama space in the West Village went on the market and a rep there confirmed they planned on moving. Today, Grub Street learns they may be moving to the East Village into an open spot on Extra Place: "A tipster responds to our news about a Portuguese restaurant rumored to open alongside the Avalon Bowery Place: 'Just to let you know. I talked to the Alfama people 2 weeks ago when I dined there and this is them. They wanted a new space that’s a bit bigger and has the capacity to be a bakery too.'" [GS]
