The City Room tags along to the final Tavern on the Green walk-through before final applications are due for potential bidders. Earlier reports already relayed that neither the Tavern on the Green name nor its twinkling lights would be included with the lease, but there are some new details:
"In the summer, about 50 percent of dining is outdoors. There are 500 employees in the Christmas season and the summer; at other times, the roster is more like 225 to 250. Many nonmanagement workers are under the jurisdiction of Local 6 Unite Here..."Reps for over 60 operators showed to last month's initial meeting, but it's unclear who will actually be putting in a bid and the $50k deposit by the new May 18 deadline.
