Opening Tonight: Da Silvano Offshoot Scuderia

West Village: The long wait for Scuderia, Da Silvano's casual offshoot located right across 6th Avenue from the mothership (though the technical address is 10 Downing St.), is over. She opens her doors tonight at 5 p.m.

Opened by Da Silvano founder Silvano Marchetto, his daughter Leyla Marchetto, Fabrizio Sotti, and Alessandro Bandini, the 100 seat restaurant features a bar, a dining room with a number of low tables and a high communal table by the kitchen, and a raised mezzanine that can be turned in to a private dining room. As for the menu, chef Claudo Cristofoli is serving up pizzas, sandwiches, cheese, and meats in addition to homemade pastas and entrees like cornish hen, grilled rabbit, and skirt steak. But get ready for this: the priciest item tops out at $23, with most items hovering under $20. Scuderia opens this week for dinner, this weekend for brunch, and next week for lunch.
