Chopped! NBC Cancels Marco Pierre White Vehicle

After just three weeks on the air, NBC has decided to cancel the Marco Pierre White vehicle, Chopping Block and run Law & Order reruns in the time slot until a replacement is found. The show has come in last place against all the major networks in the past two weeks and this week only averaged 2.6 million viewers. Eat Me Daily notes:

"It was and still is a great concept — one that's worked successfully in Australia and the UK — but it fell apart in the hands of Granada America, the production company...It's an inauspicious start to Marco Pierre White's US debut...It truly shows that a good idea in the wrong hands can turn out to be a dud."
