Last week, we announced that Eater readers willing to show us their most recent meal could win a week's worth of personal training sessions from Definitions Personal Training Gym. Submissions varied from delectable-looking meals at Per Se and Half Steak to, well, whatever happened to be on a nearby desk. Herewith, the grand prize winner—who we'll notify soon about arranging for their prize at Manhattan's premier private, personal, training-only gym—and four runners-up.
THE RUNNERS-UP:
This one came in without explanation, but does look tasty. Can anyone ID this plate?
Writes this entrant, "Recession, what recession? Oops. Dinner at Per Se. Not a jellyfish, but strawberry gelee."
From another entrant, via cameraphone: "Scarpetta's spaghetti. Amazing. I'd let a trainer whip me into top shape so that I could have this dish everyday!
"Chicken Liver mousse with pickled ramps from Half Steak," says this submission.
Quips this entrant, "This is about as luxurious as it gets in this economy."
THE GRAND PRIZE WINNER:
And now, the grand prize winner of three personal training sessions at Definitions: this. It came with no identifying notes, but assuming the entrant actually ate this thing, our choice here is clear. Enjoy working it off, crazy pizza-loving friend!
Thanks from Definitions and Eater to all who entered.
