EaterWire: Baoguette 3.0, Good World to Shutter, Yushi's Conveyor Belt Fail, and More

New, 4 comments

LOWER EAST SIDE— Grub Street reports that the long anticipated shutter of LES restaurant and bar Good World is now upon us: "...this Saturday will be the last regular night of business. After one last brunch service on Sunday, the owners will pack up the notoriously high bar stools and put them in storage in hopes of eventually finding another location." [GS]

WEST VILLAGE— The second branch of Baoguette hasn't even opened in the corpse of Bamn! and already their PR is announcing another location: "PR reps tell us that a third is slated to open by mid-April in the West Village, at 120 Christopher Street, in what appears to be the former location of Mama’s Mudsliders. In addition to their selection of banh mi sandwiches—which will be served from a counter in the front of the space—40 seats in the back will be dedicated to a new concept they are calling 'Pho Sure'..." MIDTOWN— Midtown sushi spot Yushi added a new conveyor belt this Monday. But according to Midtown Lunch, it's just for show: "What good is having a conveyor belt if you’re not going to let it do its job as a fun, sushi distributing conveyor belt? It’s like having a moving version of those lame glass cases that bad restaurants put in their front doorway." [ML]

WEST VILLAGE— The Spotted Pig is going to be serving up some crazy fatty, hairy white pig tomorrow. [UD]
