EaterWire: Bar Martignetti Still Closed, the Fat Book Deal, a Pizza Place Lounge, and More

NEW YORK CITY— Grub Street performs spot checks at 16 restaurants across the city on a Wednesday night and a Saturday night and gets some interesting results: "Dovetail...was near capacity on a Wednesday night...poor Secession had only seated eight diners at around 8 p.m. on that same night. Pastis was packed last Saturday, but Hearth could have seated 36 more people." [GS]

BOOK DEALS— The book deal for internet sensation This is Why You're Fat is now confirmed: "HarperStudio acquired the rights to a book based on the blog, which has pulled in over ten million page-views in its first month. Amason and Blakeley are currently in TV development talks." [The Harper Studio]

EAST VILLAGE— Urban Daddy reports on yet another vaguely ridiculous subterranean lounge. This one, under Pizza Shop at 110 Avenue A, is called Cabin Down Below: "...a tiny, dimly lit living room, complete with old books, trinkets and a fireplace that you can actually sit in (call it the hot seat)...swing by after the witching hour for a shot and a Bud before fading out into the night....if the space seems a little cramped, they've got plans to expand in the next few weeks and even add outdoor seating to their small smoker's patio." [UD]

SOHO— Guest of a Guest checks in on the shuttered Bar Martignetti's to see how progress is going on the renos. Turns out, it's not. [GoaG]
