EaterWire: Billy's Expands, Happy B-day JGV, An upcoming BYOB Raid, and More

TRIBECA— Chelsea sweet shop Billy's Bakery has announced it plans to expand to Tribeca this May. The new outpost, at 75 Franklin between Church and Broadway, will be twice as big as the Chelsea location. [EaterWire]

DITMAS PARK— The Times runs a long and sad piece today about the decline and fall of Vox Pop, a trailblazer in the nabe that may be forced to shutter: "The health department shut down the food-and-beverage operation at the shop, Vox Pop, in January, because of $29,000 in unpaid fines going back to 2007. Vox Pop is also three months behind on the rent. The telephone has been disconnected. And the person who was hired in December to straighten things out has never been paid." [NYT]
