East Village: Charged with filing an up-to-date status report, an Eater operative took to the East Village this afternoon to check in on some recent renovations. First and foremost, Lucy's, the famed Avenue A dive, did not reopen, as promised, on March 12. Spot checks late yesterday and today reveal the place is locked up tight without any sign of life—or renovation for that matter—from the inside. Up the block, Ray's Pizza has reopened after a brief renovation, and Ryan's Pub, while still down, is scheduled to reopen to the public on...wait for it...St. Patrick's Day. Best of luck to them and the mysterious Lucy's.
