EAST VILLAGE— Early this morning a fire broke out at 215 East 4th Street, the building that houses restaurant In Vino. Owner Keith Beavers tells us the fire completely burned up the top floor of the building, "something about a curtain and a candle." He was concerned about the hood in his kitchen because the firefighters had to cut a hole in the roof to pour water down. In the end, no one was hurt, the hood is fine, and the restaurant is open for business. [EaterWire]

CHELSEA— New York City Bartenders & Patrons spreads word that Tommy McNeill, owner and founder of many a dive bar in Manhattan over the last two decades, may be taking over the Red Rock West space on West 17th and 10th Ave. [NYCBP]

MEPA— Metromix gets a pic of Neil Ferguson's menu at the exclusive Soho House and twitters about it. [Twitter]

LOWER EAST SIDE— A Gawker Stalker tipster spots Padma Lakshmi behaving badly at Schiller's: "saw Padma Laskshmi and Teddy Forstmann come in for a late dinner last night at Schiller's around 10:15 PM. They had to wait at the bar for a few moments and she went over to the hostess and started flipping out, waving her arms and stamped her feet, while he waited at the bar..." [Gawker]

SOHO— And Grub Street take a look at Veloce Club opening in the old Room 4 Dessert space near La Esquina: "...he was aiming to create a 'clubby hideaway,' but Twomey assures us, 'I don’t want to play the game of members-only.' After 6 p.m., anyone can call and ask the bartender to hold a booth..." [GS]
