2009_03_chantdinner.jpgTim and Nina Zagat made a surprise guest appearance at last night's Vintage dinner at Chanterelle (as did a Met star who sang Danny Boy). After stopping at every table in the restaurant to hand out memberships to his website—whether the diners were having the special menu or not—Mr. Zagat told us many of the chefs doing these dinners are going to add some of the 1900's dishes to the permanent rotation. Of last night's offerings, we would be happy to see the pike quenelles make a comeback. As for consumme/aspic, perhaps there a reason it went out of style. [EaterWire]
