Brand Expansions: Keller and Boulud in the Freezer Aisle

While Eric Ripert may not be venturing into the frozen food business as was once thought, Daniel Boulud and Thomas Keller are. Over the weekend several tipsters forwarded us the above Craigslist ad for a sales rep for the frozen food lines for Sir Thomas Keller, the D-Biggity himself, Charlie Trotter and four other big chefs, which states, "We envision every neighborhood grocery store carrying these products in their freezers." Oh boy.

Meanwhile, Wined and Dined takes a closer look at the site of the producer FiveLeaf, and uncovers the menus. Boulud cooks up some Braised Beef Short Ribs ($17.99) and Salmon Escebeche ($10.95). Keller’s menu includes Poached Lobster Tails with Orzo ($36.00) and Mac & Cheese ($16.95).

Perhaps now Ripert won't be so hesitant to make the leap to some frozen escolar and monkfish.
