Last week, it was revealed that Tom Colicchio saved the day at a party in DC by performing the Heimlich maneuver on the host Joan Nathan. Now, Nathan chimes in with the first hand report: "I was amazed that restaurateurs are not required to learn this simple emergency procedure. All they need to do, in most states, is to display posters demonstrating how to aid diners in case they are choking...Before the party, I had never met Tom Colicchio. Now we are linked for life."
