MIDTOWN EAST— The Times offers some new details on Chef Eric Hara's move to the Oak Room: "A new menu will go into effect on March 18. Mr. Hara, 30, said he planned to create a modern American menu that will included what he calls 'reinvented American classics'...prices will be lower than they are now...There will also be a change in the decor, making it less formal." [Diner's Journal]
MIDTOWN EAST— The Feed runs a sad piece on Crave Ceviche Bar, the restaurant that was forced to close after the deadly crane collapse last March. Their landlord attempted to evict them and they're now searching for a new space: “If we find a place that requires relocating the kitchen, or doing major storefront work, that could take nine months to a year. If we find a turnkey operation, we could sign a lease and have the doors open in 60 to 90 days.” [The Feed]
PADMAVERSE— People brings the news that the lovely Padma Lakshmi has a new ad for a somewhat unlikely spot, Hardee's. (We guess it's no worse than a Quaker Oats quickfire challenge.): "'I think it's a beautiful love song to food,' Lakshmi says of her new ad. 'I think eating in itself is the act of great sensuality, so all you have to do is point the camera in the right direction." [People via Amuse-Biatch]
TRIBECA— Urban Daddy reports that Macao Trading Co is now serving brunch. Expect menu items like Chinese Omelet, Portuguese Croque-Senhora and Bloody Martas. [UD]
